Who is a sworn translator / interpreter?
A sworn translator / interpreter is a person of public trust who specializes in doing and certifying translation from one language into another. In Poland, the profession of sworn translators / interpreters is governed by the 2004 Act on the Profession of the Sworn Translator. Certified translations bear a signature and a seal of the sworn translator.
Kinds of certified translation
The most common documents which need to be translated by a sworn translator are:
– notarial deeds
– affidavits and powers of attorney
– contracts / agreements
– court-related documents (claims, motions, judgments)
– birth certificates, marriage certificates and death certificates
– school certificates and diplomas
